Descrição
In a harmonic trap, the momentum distribution for a Bose-Einstein condensate in equilibrium present two components: a Thomas-Fermi for the condensate part and a Gaussian for the thermal part. For a trapped condensate drove far from equilibrium where turbulence is established, recent publication [Phys. Rev. Lett. 104, 075301 (2010)] (1)predicted that deviation from Gaussian can be considered as a fundamental property for the quantum turbulence. We report a significant change on the high momentum component behavior observed during the expansion of a turbulent cloud generated by excitation of a BEC of $\mathrm{^{87}Rb}$ atoms. A transition from Gaussian to exponential as turbulence progress in the system is observed. We investigate conditions where such behavior occurs and discuss the relevance of such observation, in the general out of equilibrium context (2-3)
