Description

In this talk, we will discuss the advances of the ASTRI MINI-ARRAY with 9 telescopes, the Cherenkov Telescope Array (CTA) Precursor, that will be installed in Tenerife, Canarian Islands, staring in September 2021. I will also show the advances on the construction of the 40 small-size-telescopes (SSTs) for CTA. The ASTRI telescope has been chosen (out of two other prototypes) to be the structure of the SSTs, putting the ASTRI team and Brazil as one of the protagonists of the next steps of the CTA development. The ASTRI MINI-ARRAY will start operation well before the CTA, allowing the Brazilian High Energy Astrophysics and Particle Physics Community to partake in obtaining unprecedented quality data at extreme gamma-ray energies. CTA and the ASTRI MINI-ARRAY are among the largest projects of the SPANet.
